I can't believe I'm sitting here writing about last months (already!!!) beauty favorites. I was very close to not making this post, because when I tried to think of the things that my hand reached for the most this past month, nothing really came to mind at first (like seriously? I'm rolling my eyes myself right now). But at the start of January I promised myself that this year I would start this monthly ritual of gathering things together that I have really liked and share it all here (next level, hopefully, will be monthly favorites videos), so after a little browse through my makeup collection here are the things that impressed me the most. But before I get into beauty stuff, that is mostly NYX as you saw in the pictures, I have to say that my biggest favorite in January was my trip to LA! The whole experience, the people, the vibe, the ... ahhh just everything! So, so grateful that everything lined the way it did and I got this opportunity. Ok, now the cheesy part is done, let's talk makeup!
January started off with a fantastic gift from Zoeva that I won in their contest. When I received the bag I was staring at those brushes for about ten minutes. Just staring. I couldn't believe they all were mine now. I haven't really tried all of them, but from the ones (80%) I have tried I have to say that now I understand why everyone is raving about them. The quality sometimes seems too good to be true. I use and wash them every day and after a month they are still exactly the same as they were when I received them. So far my favorites for the eyes are 228 Luxe Crease, 227 Luxe Soft Definer, 221 Luxe Soft Crease, 230 Luxe Pencil and 122 Petite Stippling for applying and working in my primer (when I'm not using Nivea Men Post-shave Balm, this one I work in with my hands).
Another brush that I have to mention is Morphe Brushes M310 brush that has changed my highlight game and has taken it to the next level. With the right highlighter this brush will highlight your face so hard that people will get blinded by you. haha
In January I kind of, a little bit, got into baking. Mostly under my eyes and for that I enjoyed using the Oriflame The One Loose Powder in Translucent. I can't really compare it to any other loose powder because this is the first I've ever tried, but so far I have nothing bad to say about it.
Before the LA trip I didn't really use that many products from NYX. I like to think that it's because here in Latvia the assortment is so small, that there are not that many things to choose from (I'm talking about the official NYX stand that you can find only in Douglas), but now I have so many products that I really enjoy using from the brand, that soon I will need to make separate monthly posts with favorites from NYX. haha An old favorite that is having an appearance again is the Powder Blush in Taupe. The first time I tried it I though it was not that pigmented, so I put it away. After seeing Nikkie using it in almost every tutorial in December I decided to try it again and I haven't put it away. It's the perfect contour shade for the light skin owners. This was the only contour powder that I brought to LA. The first new thing that I tried from NYX was Lip Lingerie lipstick in Embellishmen. And to be honest I can't get enough of it and I'm happy that I got two of them, because for some reason this shade just works on me (well at least I would like to think so). The next thing I tried was the Strobe Of Genius Illuminating Palette and you know how I feel about it if you saw my US Beauty Haul video. I also can't get enough of their Prismatic Pro Shadow in Fireball & Hot Singles Shadow in Addiction. If in the middle of January I was all about having Addiction all over my lid with Glam Aqua Luxe eyeliner in 24 Karat in my inner corner, then at the end of the month all I was wearing was Fireball. You can see the makeup look with Addiction here & Fireball here. The last product that I've been really enjoying is the Color Correcting Liquid Primer in Yellow that gives my dull and gray face the well needed luminosity. It keeps my base in place throughout the day & I've also noticed that I don't get so shiny when I have put it on under my foundation.
What is that one January favorite of yours that I have to try?

So much NYX! So nice to see everything you've been loving. I just found a place nearby that sells NYX and I'm trying hard not to go crazy and buy everything!
